12 international renommierte Künstler und Künstlerinnen wurden vom Botschafter Arkadiens, S.E. Peter Kees, eingeladen, öffentliche Plakatflächen in Bayern mit einer arkadischen Botschaft zu versehen.

Die Botschaften hingen vom 9.September bis 14.November 2022 in München, Erlangen, Lindau, Starnberg, Rosenheim, Ingolstadt, Nürnberg, Furth im Wald, Passau, Neu-Ulm, Bayerisch Gmain

Erstmals sind die 12 Plakate in einer Ausstellung zu sehen.

Environment Monitoring

Die Praxis für alternative Handlungen entwickelt zum Arkadien Festival 2023 ihre Installation "Environment Monitoring". Dafür werden in der stadtnahen Umgebung von Ebersberg in der Natur Orte inszeniert und abgefilmt. Diese Filmaufnahmen werden auf Monitore übertragen. Die inszenierten Naturorte werden vom Kontrollraum aus überwacht.

eine skulpturale Situation für das Arkadien-Festival

Die aus materialsichtigen Holzwerkstoffen gebaute skulpturale Situation von rasso rottenfusser lagert sich mehrteilig an die Front der alten Brennerei. Sie vereint praktische als auch künstlerische Aspekte und oszilliert so zwischen Design, Skulptur, Architekturen und kulturellem Raum. In fragmentarischen Details werden Aspekte der Geschichte Ebersbergs angeschnitten, in der Ausführung, der ständige Übergang und die Sehnsucht nach einem gelingendem Fortschreiben einer vernünftigen Geschichte.

Dieses Plakat existiert nicht

„Diese Grenze existiert nicht“, das stand auf unserem Plakat, nebst Bundesadler und verfremdetem EU-Emblem, plakatiert an der deutsch-österreichischen Grenze. Was jetzt außerdem nicht mehr existiert, ist vor allem das Plakat selbst, es wurde nämlich von der Polizei entfernt. Wie war das nochmal mit der Kunstfreiheit? Naja. Vielleicht kommt ja noch eine Entschuldigung, mal sehen.

Neue Ebene

Eine grau-weiß karierte Fläche markiert in dem Bildbearbeitungsprogramm Photoshop den Hintergrund einer ‚Neuen Ebene', als Raster für neue Formen und Inhalte. Übertragen auf eine Fahne, verweigert sich dieses Motiv jeder politischen wie ideologischen Zuordnung und stößt eine Auseinandersetzung darüber an, ob sich eine Haltung der Unvoreingenommenheit und Aufgeschlossenheit allen gesellschaftlichen Werten gegenüber, in einer von symbolischen Zuweisungen bestimmten Welt behaupten lässt.

Was ist eine Revolution und wie entsteht sie? Und was sind die Folgen einer Revolte? Jeder Umsturz ist mit Kosten verbunden, in Form von Menschenleben oder gesellschaftlichen Umwälzungen. Die Reflexion über das Ergebnis einer Revolution ist eine Erinnerung an die Vergangenheit für die Zukunft, es ist ein Aufruf zum Handeln und ein Kampf gegen die radikalen Veränderungen vergangener Revolutionen.

Am Ende stellt sich die Frage: wann erreicht eine Revolution das Ende und ist nur die Revolution tot oder auch der revolutionäre Geist.

Entsiegelt

Mit der künstlerischen Aktion "Entsiegelt" widmet sich Folke Köbberling ihrem Langzeitprojekt der Entsiegelung asphaltierter und gepflasterter Böden in der Welt. Sie

bietet den Bewohner*innen der Stadt Ebersberg an, ihre Pflastersteine gegen kompostierbare Steine einzutauschen oder sogar selber herzustellen. Pflastersteine werden durch kompostierbare Steine ersetzt und verwandeln sich zu Habitaten für zukünftige Wildpflanzen und Insekten. Muster dieser Steine können im Klosterbauhof begutachtet werden.

Internationales Staubarchiv zu Gast in Ebersberg –

Kehren ist Ehren – Staub ist Zivilisation

Wolfgang Stöcker erforscht Ebersberg und Umgebung. Als Bürogebäude dient ein Bauwagen. Dort eingerichtet wird eine temporäre Galerie mit Bilden und Texten zum Thema Schönheit und Landschaftsbild.

Wie es wirklich aussieht: Welche Grade von „Schönheit“ und „Hässlichkeit“ finden sich in Ortsbildern? Ist eine solche Fragestellung überhaupt objektiv möglich? Zu den mitgebrachten Bildern gesellen sich in Ebersberg entstehende Momentaufnahmen.

Während der Woche bietet der Forscher mehrere Lecture Performances und Bildvorträge an.

Mads Lynnerup wird ein großes Rad aus Sperrholz durch die Stadt Ebersberg schieben. Auf dem hölzernen Rad stehen die beiden Worte "Work" und "More". Je nachdem, welche Seite oben ist, lautet der Text entweder "WORK MORE" oder "MORE WORK".

Ein Quadratmeter angehaltene Zeit

Geschlossene Kammern von 1 m2 Grundfläche stehen mitten im Stadtraum und laden zum Hören ein. Extrem kurze Klänge werden maximal verlängert: aus den Sekundenbruchteilen eines Schusses wird eine 10-minütige Musik. Die Überraschung eines Fausthiebs verwandelt sich zur tröstenden Elegie. Aus dem Moment einer Explosion entsteht ein orchestraler Zustand Wagnerschen Ausmaßes.

Die Installation von Hinterglas-Malereien im öffentlichen Raum, beschäftigt sich mit ausgestorbenen Pflanzen aus der Roten Liste. Vordergründig sind schöne Blumenbilder zu sehen, die den Betrachter subtil den Verlust der Schönheit der Pflanzenwelt aufzeigen.

Mit der Installierung eines Eisberges wird ein temporäres Landschaftsbild geschaffen. Seine Form verändert sich während des Arkadien-Festivals durch das Abschmelzen, kontinuierlich.

Würden Sie am liebsten abhauen? Weltflucht? Oder: wie sehen Sie die weltweiten Flüchtlingsströme? Ein Fluchtfahrzeug schafft Abhilfe: ein kleines Flugzeug, das einlädt, einzusteigen und loszumachen. Es trägt die Aufschrift „LIBERTÉ“. Nur, es geht nicht. Denn: das Fluchtfahrzeug steht Mitten im Wald. Ein poetisches und durchaus ironisches Bild der Ausweglosigkeit. Der Ikarus-Mythos schwingt mit. Zu hoch in die Sonne flog der Übermütige. Sind wir heute zu übermütig? Zu hoch, zu schnell, zu weit? Auch der Glaube an ewiges Wachstum ist eine Flucht, eine Flucht vor der Realität. Der Freiheitsbegriff schwingt mit.

Eine Gerüstkonstruktion wird solarbetrieben das Wort "Free" in den Himmel schreiben. Da sich die Welt aufgrund der Umweltzerstörung, der Abholzung der Wälder und der Abhängigkeit von zerstörerischen Energieressourcen erwärmt, wird die Fragmentierung und Auflösung des Wortes und das Erlöschen des Lichts zu einer Metapher, die auf unser kollabierendes Ökosystem anspielt und vielleicht auf die Unmöglichkeit Arkadiens.

Bei 'Trommeln in der Nacht' (nach dem Drama von Bertolt Brecht) spielen eine Reihe von Schlagzeugern zu einem Soundtrack aus Antikriegs- und antikapitalistischen Liedern, die sie nicht kennen. In den Musikpausen werden Auszüge aus Manifesten, Tiraden, Literatur, Gedichten und Liebeserklärungen an egalitäre Ideen vorgetragen.

Künstlerische Konferenz zum Ukraine-Krieg

Welche Rolle, welche Aufgabe, welche Möglichkeiten hat die Kunst in Zeiten eines Krieges? In welchem Verhältnis standen und stehen Pazifismus, Freiheit und Kunst? Hat der Krieg in der Ukraine daran etwas geändert? Wie soll Kunst mit Krieg umgehen, wie parteiisch darf Kunst im Krieg sein? Müssen Künstler sich verhalten? Können sie etwas bewirken?

Diese und viele Fragen mehr stehen im Fokus einer sozialen Plastik, deren erster Teil am 15.Juni 22 in Dresden stattfand: im Öffentlichen Raum diskutierten: Manaf Halbouni (Künstler), Andrea Hilger (Gründerin und Direktorin der OSTRALE Dresden), Wolfgang Florey (Komponist), Dr. Elena Korowin (Kunstwissenschaftlerin), Dr. Rolf Külz-Mackenzie (Künstler und Historiker) und Prof. Dr. Harald Seubert (Philosoph) mit dem arkadischen Botschafter, dem Künstler Peter Kees über den Pazifismus der neuen Zeit und der Notwendigkeit einer Ästhetik des Aufbegehrens.

Schritt für Schritt ins Paradies

Performance von Vielen anlässlich des zunehmenden Verschwindens der Toleranz und des vielschichtigen Diskurses.

In der Folge vom November 1989 hat sich die Welt für die damals jungen Künstler, den Bulgaren Krassimir Terziev und den in Berlin lebenden Ottjörg A.C. tiefgreifend verändert.

5 Monate zuvor waren jedoch in der Nacht von 3. auf den 4. Juni 1989 die Träume vieler Pekinger nach mehr Freiheit und Mitbestimmung von Panzern niedergewalzt worden. Diese Panzern haben auch die Überzeugung zerstört, dass Wohlstand für breite Schichten der Bevölkerung nur mit Demokratie zu haben sei.

Das war 1989 für kaum jemanden sichtbar.

30 Jahre lang haben die Menschen in Hong Kong, immer auch im Bewusstsein der prekären Situation ihrer Freiheiten, am 4. Juni Kerzen entzündet für die, die ihren Träumen zum Opfer gefallen sind.

In der Nacht vom 3. auf den 4. Juni werden Krassimir in Berlin und Ottjörg in Ebersberg mit vielen Menschen Kerzen entzünden. Jeder der möchte kann zu diesem Anlass einen Absatz aus Eugène Ionescos Rhinoceros vorlesen, was in beide Orte übertragen wird.

a sculptural situation for the Arcadia Festival

The sculptural situation by rasso rottenfusser, built from transparent wood materials, is positioned in several parts on the front of the old distillery. It combines practical as well as artistic aspects and thus oscillates between design, sculpture, architectures and cultural space. In fragmentary details aspects of the history of Ebersberg are alluded to, in the execution, the constant transition and the longing for a successful continuation of a reasonable history.

A gray and white checkered area marks the background of a 'New Plane' in the image editing program Photoshop, as a grid for new forms and contents. Transferred to a flag, this motif refuses any political or ideological assignment and initiates a discussion about whether an attitude of impartiality and open-mindedness towards all social values can be maintained in a world determined by symbolic assignments.

What is a revolution and how does it happen? And what are the consequences of a revolt? Every upheaval has a cost, in terms of human lives or social upheaval. Reflecting on the outcome of a revolution is a reminder of the past for the future, it is a call to action and a struggle against the radical changes of past revolutions.

In the end, the question arises: when does a revolution reach the end and is only the revolution dead or also the revolutionary spirit.

Unsealed

With the artistic action "Unsealed" Folke Köbberling dedicates herself to her long-term project of unsealing asphalted and paved grounds in the world. She

offers the residents of the city of Ebersberg to exchange their paving stones for compostable stones or even to produce them themselves. Paving stones are replaced by compostable stones and become habitats for future wild plants and insects. Samples of these stones can be examined in the monastery building yard.

Sweeping is honoring - dust is civilization

Wolfgang Stöcker explores Ebersberg and the surrounding area. A construction trailer serves as an office building. A temporary gallery is set up there with pictures and texts on the subject of beauty and the landscape.

How it really looks: What degrees of "beauty" and "ugliness" can be found in townscapes? Is such a question even objectively possible? The images brought along will be joined by snapshots taken in Ebersberg.

During the week, the researcher offers several lecture performances and image lectures.

One square meter stopped time

Closed chambers of 1 m2 footprint stand in the middle of the urban space and invite you to listen. Extremely short sounds are extended to the maximum: the fractions of a second of a gunshot become 10 minutes of music. The surprise of a fist blow turns into a consoling elegy. From the moment

of an explosion becomes an orchestral state of Wagnerian proportions.

The installation of reverse glass paintings in public space, deals with extinct plants from the Red List. Superficially, there are beautiful paintings of flowers, which subtly show the viewer the loss of beauty of the plant world.

Would you like to run away? Flee the world? Or: how do you see the worldwide flow of refugees? An escape vehicle provides a remedy: a small airplane that invites you to get on and go. It bears the inscription "LIBERTÉ". Only, it doesn't work. Because: the escape vehicle stands in the middle of the forest. A poetic and quite ironic image of hopelessness. The Icarus myth resonates. The cocky man flew too high into the sun. Are we too cocky today? Too high, too fast, too far? The belief in eternal growth is also an escape, an escape from reality. The concept of freedom resonates.

Free Tower

A scaffolding structure will be solar powered to write the word "Free" in the sky. As the world heats up due to environmental degradation, deforestation, and dependence on destructive energy resources, the fragmentation and dissolution of the word and the extinguishing of light becomes a metaphor alluding to our collapsing ecosystem and perhaps the impossibility of Arcadia.

In 'Drums in the Night' (based on the drama by Bertolt Brecht), a series of percussionists play to a soundtrack of anti-war and anti-capitalist songs they don't know. During breaks in the music, excerpts from manifestos, rants, literature, poems, and declarations of love for egalitarian ideas are recited.

Artistic conference on the Ukraine war

What role, what task, what possibilities does art have in times of war? What was and is the relationship between pacifism, freedom and art? Has the war in Ukraine changed anything? How should art deal with war, how biased may art be in war? Do artists have to behave? Can they make a difference?

These and many more questions are the focus of a social sculpture, the first part of which took place in Dresden on 15 June 22: in the public space discussed: Manaf Halbouni (artist), Andrea Hilger (founder and director of the OSTRALE Dresden), Wolfgang Florey (composer), Dr. Elena Korowin (art scholar), Dr. Rolf Külz-Mackenzie (artist and historian) and Prof. Dr. Harald Seubert (philosopher) with the Arcadian ambassador, the artist Peter Kees about the pacifism of the new age and the necessity of an aesthetics of rebellion.

Step by step to paradise

Performance of many on the occasion of the increasing disappearance of tolerance and multi-layered discourse.

In the aftermath of November 1989, the world changed profoundly for the then young artists, the Bulgarian Krassimir Terziev and the Berlin-based Ottjörg A.C..

5 months earlier, however, in the night of June 3 to 4, 1989, the dreams of many Beijingers for more freedom and co-determination had been crushed by tanks. These tanks also destroyed the conviction that prosperity for broad sections of the population could only be had with democracy.

This was hardly visible to anyone in 1989.

For 30 years, the people of Hong Kong, always aware of the precarious situation of their freedoms, lit candles on June 4 for those who had fallen victim to their dreams.

On the night of June 3 to 4, Krassimir in Berlin and Ottjörg in Ebersberg will light candles with many people. Anyone who wishes can read a paragraph from Eugène Ionesco's Rhinoceros on this occasion, which will be broadcast in both places.
